| Tuition: Terms and Conditions By accepting a student on a course at Leeds English Language School the School agrees to the following terms and conditions. The School - The School will only accept students who are at the recommended level of English outlined for each course.
- The School reserves the right not to accept students onto any part of the course if their level of English is not sufficient. Students may be asked to repeat a level or will be helped to find alternative schooling.
- Once accepted on the course in the UK the School agrees to provide English tuition for the stated period.
- The School agrees to provide private home accommodation for full time students who request it giving reasonable notice.
- The School will provide help with opening bank accounts, police registration and obtaining a student card.
- The School will provide a student welfare officer to help with any problems concerning students outside of the school.
- The School will provide all books, materials and tests for the particular course.
- The School will not exceed 14 students per class.
- The School will only employ suitably qualified and experienced teachers.
- The School will mark and return homework, set tests and provide feedback.
- The School reserves the right to cancel a course and will provide a full refund for the remainder of the course duration minus any administration fees.
- The School will provide self study room and facilities dependent on availability. Students on Full time courses will have priority.
- The School will provide written reports and tutorials at regular stages throughout the course.
By accepting a place at Leeds English Language School students agree to the following terms and conditions. The Student - The Student agrees to pay a non returnable deposit of £100 to guarantee a place on the course and £735 to guarantee the first month’s accommodation fees and deposit plus the registration fee.
- The Student agrees to pay for remainder of the course within 2 weeks the start date.
- Students who are asked to leave or leave by mutual consent in the first two weeks will be given a refund minus administration costs.
- Students who decide to leave in the first two weeks without the consent of the school will incur a cost of 50% of the course cost.
- By paying the fees the student agrees to study for the whole period. There is a no refunds policy.
- If the Student does not maintain 80% attendance they will not receive a certificate of attendance and letter of reference necessary for visa extensions.
- Students on full time courses who do not maintain 80% attendance in one month will receive a warning letter which will be sent to their Agent and sponsor. If this continues for one month the School may ask them to leave the course with NO refund.
- Students understand that if they are not at the recommended level of English for a particular course or particular stage of the course they may be asked to repeat a level or will be helped to find alternative schooling.
- Students understand they may have to take and pay for extra classes to achieve the level required.
- Students who are involved in Police action, continually break the rules of the School or are continually disruptive in class will receive a warning letter which will be sent to their Agent and sponsor. If this continues the School may ask them to leave the course with NO refund.
Students in LELS Host Family Accommodation Study Links International provide the host family accommodation for Leeds English Language School. Host Families - A host family will provide a single bedroom with study desk.
- A host family will provide meals.
Breakfast: a typical breakfast in England (Cereal and toast). Usually you will prepare this yourself. Dinner: a usual English dinner. If you do not eat at the same time as the host family, you might have to prepare food yourself. Lunch: only on Saturday and Sunday - The people in the family will speak to you in English but they are not your English teacher. You are paying for accommodation, not English lessons.
- Your clothes will be washed and you will be provided with clean towels and bed sheets.
- You will be expected to keep your bedroom clean and follow the rules of the house
Payment before Arrival - You must pay a deposit of £250 (for breakages or unpaid rent)
- You must pay a registration fee of £45
- You must pay 4 weeks host family fees (£440)
- There is a minimum period of stay of 4 weeks for students over 18 years old and 12 weeks for students under 18 years old.
- Payment must be transferred to the Leeds English School before we arrange the family.
- We charge you from your planned arrival date even if you arrive later.
- If you book homestay accommodation with us but do not arrive we will charge you one week’s homestay fees.
Methods of Payment in the UK · There are 2 methods of paying your fees: 1) By Standing Order every month through a UK bank account. 2) By Bank Transfer every 3 months through an overseas bank account - You will need to decide before you arrive how you wish to pay.
- We will show you how to set your payments up when you arrive.
- We do not normally accept cash or credit card payments.
Moving Out of Host Family Accommodation - After the minimum period you can leave the accommodation if you tell Study Links International in writing TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE DATE YOU MOVE OUT. You will be given a letter to confirm this (you will need this letter as proof of notice).
- You will be refunded any unused host family fees and your deposit after you move out if there are no breakages or unpaid fees.
- If you do not tell Study Links International TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE DATE YOU MOVE OUT you will lose two weeks fees (this may be taken from the deposit).
By accepting a place with a homestay family you understand the above rules and conditions and agree to follow them.
